About

Raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by a visual artist mother and a mathematician father, Jeffrey developed an appreciation for both creativity and technical precision from an early age. He attended Skidmore College in upstate New York, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Photography.

After graduation, Jeffrey moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a cinematographer. Early in his career, he joined the camera department on the film Internal Affairs, where he met legendary Cinematographer John A. Alonzo, A.S.C. Alonzo took Jeffrey under his wing, guiding him through the ranks over the next decade. He was also instrumental in helping Jeffrey land his first feature film as a director of photography.

Jeffrey spent many years honing his craft as a camera operator in Hollywood. His credits include the Academy Award-nominated Little Miss Sunshine, Bewitched for John Lindley, A.S.C., and Black Snake Moan and Footloose for Amy Vincent, A.S.C., along with numerous films and commercials for Fred Murphy, A.S.C.

Director and Producer, Tommy Schlamme, elevated Jeffrey to Director of Photography on the WGN series Manhattan. Jeffrey later reunited with Schlamme as Director of Photography on S1 and S2 of the FX series Snowfall. Since then, his cinematography credits have expanded to include Castle Rock (S1 & S2, Hulu), Goliath (S3 & S4, Amazon), and Jack Ryan (S3, Amazon). More recently, he served as Director of Photography on Justified: City Primeval (FX), Truth Be Told (Apple TV+), and S1 and S2 of Dark Matter (Apple TV+).

Throughout his 30-year career, Jeffrey has been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion within the camera department, creating opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers.

When he's not behind the camera, Jeffrey can often be found mountain biking the trails of Marin County, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
